More accurate than you realize, considering the Titan has a VK engine which is based on the VQ...which originally came from Renault

Looks Like a Nissan, Bro.
Seriously... Nissan and Renault are under the same corporate umbrella, it is a Renault-branded Nissan Frontier.

The VQ originally came from Renault? I thought it was just an evolution of the VG.

The VQ was a RENAULT-NISSAN ALLIANCE project. It was en evolution of the VG, but the engineering load was shared and much of the work done by renault.

I dunno, my G35 makes a great noise around 4000 rpm. it just sounds crappy idling.

Other than Clarkson (who I think was wrong), do you have a source that the VQ is a Renault design? I'm sure it's a Nissan engine through-and-through, albeit one that has been used in some Renault models. The VQ was first released in '94, five years before the Renault-Nissan Alliance was founded.
